The Shows
Whether you are studying a reptile unit, putting on a science fair, having a birthday or some other type of event, The Reptile Guy has a for you. A Reptile Guy Presentation is both educational and fun, offering a hands on approach to the better understanding of reptiles and their needs. During the show, you will have the oppurtunity not only to see and learn about the reptiles, you will also get the chance to pet or even hold a reptile!
Each show is unique as I cater specifically to your needs. I will travel almost anywhere (so long as the travel expenses are covered) and will present to any size group. All you have to do is provide an area large enough for the audience to sit and I'll show up.
Schools
There are three different types of shows I can put on for Schools
Single Class
For single class shows, I will set up in the front of the class room on a table or desk. There will be a brief introduction and a rundown of our rules for the show. I will then begin to take the reptiles out one at a time talking about their natural habitat and unusual characteristics. After that I will walk around the class allowing the students to see the animals up close and, in most cases, see what the animal feels like.
There is usually no time limit to these show so I can stay until everything is viewed.
Multiple Classes
For multiple class shows, I am usually at the school for the whole day. I begin in the morning (about half an hour before school starts) by setting up in a spare classroom or library. The first class enters just after the bell rings and I begin the show. From that point it is done like a single class show which lasts until the bell goes to change classes or, in the case of an elementary school, about 50 minutes. At that point the first class leaves and the next comes in and the show begins again. This can go on all day or until the desired classes have taken part.
School Assemblies
I prefer not to put on Assembly shows but will if requested. The reason for this is because there are so many students at one time that I can not provide the hands on experience. However, if, for whatever reason an assembly is the only option, the show must go on. I will set up in the gymnasium or auditorium (hopefully with some type of sound system) and treat it a a very large classroom show without the walk around.
Birthday Parties
The Reptile Guy's birthday show is not only educational but extremely entertaining as well. I usually set up in your living room or rec room with the kids sitting on a couch or the floor a few feet away. I give a brief rundown of the rules and then out come the reptiles! One at a time, the reptiles are shown and spoken about followed by a walk around and petting session with the birthday child holding the reptile (the friendly ones of course). Once I have gone through all of the animals I then take out the more "personable" reptiles and allow the children to hold them.
Birthday shows can last as long as needed and photographs can be taken of the kids and parents with the reptile!
